The Silver Comet Trail
The Silver Comet Trail is located 13 miles northwest
of Atlanta, Georgia and travels west through Cobb, Paulding
and Polk counties. This quiet, non-motorized trail is
for walkers, hikers and bicyclists.When completed, the
Silver Comet Trail will start in Smyrna, Georgia and
end at the Georgia / Alabama state line.
At the Georgia / Alabama state line, the Silver Comet
will connect to the 33-mile long Chief Ladiga Trail
that ends in Anniston, Alabama.The two trails will join
to form one continuous trail from Smyrna, Georgia to
Anniston, Alabama.
Both the Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga are converted
rail-trails built on abandoned railroad lines. For more
